Who are we?
Nurture Kids is a locally owned and operated business established in 2017 by owners Frith Griggs and Kristin Burns.
We are parents with extensive backgrounds in the food service industry, and we are driven by quality and integrity.
As parents, we understand how important it is that our children have good nutrition to learn and play.
Our focus is on nutritionally specific menus designed for children.
We work closely with industry specialists to ensure appropriate options for all ages.
Our lunch options
We have a professional nutrition team who design all menus. Nurture Kids makes meals fresh daily using seasonal ingredients. We understand the important role nutrition plays in a child’s wellbeing and learning, and well as making healthy food choices look, smell and taste good so kids will eat them.
Our expertly designed menus provide appropriate nourishment that appeals to children’s tastes, reflecting diverse cultures and the unique needs of a school environment.
We have an excellent reputation, and deliver on our commitment to provide
quality food and excellent service.
Our kitchen
This is our purpose-built commercial kitchen in Avondale, designed specifically to provide catering services for children. Our strategic location means we can easily deliver early childcare lunches across Auckland.
The Nurture Kids family
We are a Living Wage company and employer and have a diverse mix of talented chefs. Our Head Chef holds a Bachelor of Food Science from the University of Auckland and a Diploma of Cookery from the Cornell Institute. Our team is well experienced in delivering nutritional meals and allergy-friendly food.
Sourcing our ingredients
Working with trusted and valued suppliers, we use only the best quality ingredients from sources we know. One of our top priorities is to use local, ethical and culturally appropriate ingredients to make our healthy lunches.
Working sustainably
Ensuring our services are environmentally friendly and sustainable is at the forefront of all our production and delivery processes. Wherever possible we use reusable packaging for storing and delivering our food. We work hard to minimise disposable plastic packaging from suppliers and within our business.
